|Visit from the Fundy Silverado Friendship Club
On May 26th, Portage Atlantic staff and youth welcomed the Fundy Silverados Friendship Club. Upon arrival at Cassidy Lake, five youth each led a group of six Silverados club members through the facilities and described “a day at Portage”. The visit concluded with refreshments and a debriefing in the theatre room that overlooks Cassidy Lake. The guests indicated how impressed they were with their tour guides and the facilities. Visit from the Fredericton Community Foundation
Portage Atlantic was pleased to host the Fredericton Community Foundation (FCF) for a visit of the Portage Atlantic Centre on June 16, 2015. The “Portage Atlantic Peer Support Project”, sponsored by the Fredericton Community Foundation, provides en enhancement to the Portage Aftercare Program by creating opportunities for positive social activities amongst youth in the greater Fredericton community. Visit from members of the UNBSU
On July 13, the Portage Cassidy Lake hosted a visit from the members of the University of New Brunswick Student Union (UNBSU) Executive Committee. The members enjoyed their visit and were especially pleased to see the resources available to the youth.
Portage is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping people overcome their dependencies in order to be able to live healthy, happy, and productive lives. With service centres in Québec, New Brunswick and Ontario, Portage helps clients to develop their self-esteem, confidence, and the competencies necessary to overcome addiction.
