We help youth (12-20) and their families, with a non-judgmental strength-based approach to wellness.
We serve youth and their families impacted by substance use disorder and mental health concerns.
Portage connects with schools, hospitals and community partners to help youth and their families.
We provide:
- Group or individual meetings
- Family groups
- Afterschool programs
Our goal is to meet youth, wherever they are in their journey, and address substance use while working at resiliency, self-awareness and self-esteem.

In the Community, for the Youth
We collaborates closely with local community partners to offer vital support to both youth and families living with substance use disorders and mental health challenges.
Operating as an integral part of the community's response, we address the rise of substance use disorders and its consequences on the mental well-being of young individuals and their families. Portage Outreach Treatment actively engages with educational institutions, medical facilities, healthcare providers, harm reduction partners, youth justice programs, and more. By doing so, we guide youth and their families through intricate systems, delivering timely interventions, prevention initiatives, and educational resources.
Recognizing that addiction and mental health treatment cannot be universally standardized, we emphasize collaboration, education, intervention, and resilience-building for youth and their families within their local context.
Beyond providing direct client services, Portage Outreach Treatment plays a pivotal role in regional committees like the Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy. Through active participation, we ensure ongoing, up-to-date education and heightens social awareness regarding the spectrum of support services available within Wellington County and the Waterloo Region.
