The Human Resources Advisor serves as a subject matter expert and resource person for Portage’s managers and teams. Reporting to the Human Resources Department, this person supports the organization in the application of labor laws, the development of HR practices, labor relations, talent management, and manager support.
Through their expertise, professional judgment, and in-depth knowledge of applicable labor standards and legal obligations, they help ensure management practices remain compliant, equitable, and aligned with Portage’s values. They also play a key role in providing support, coaching, and guidance to managers to foster a healthy, engaging, and respectful work environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations.
CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) or CIRC designation is considered a strong asset.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as an HR Advisor.
Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and human resources best practices.
Significant experience advising managers and handling complex workplace situations.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgment and influence with credibility.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
High degree of autonomy, discretion, and ability to manage priorities effectively.
Collaborative, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach.
Job Type: permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday day shift (Hybrid/ possibility for remote)
