Drug Addiction Rehabilitation for Adolescents in Atlantic Canada

Portage Atlantic

Portage Atlantic, a non-profit organisation established in 1995, operates a residential drug addiction rehabilitation centre for Atlantic Canada youth (14-21) in New Brunswick.

In the therapeutic community environment, residents work through the underlying issues that caused their substance abuse and develop a set of social competencies that will help them deal with the challenges of everyday life without resorting to drug abuse.

Testimonials

“During my time at Portage, I have learned a lot about myself and about the issues that led to my drug use in the first place.  Portage has provided me with the opportunity to get my life on track and re-connect with my family.  Without Portage I wouldn’t be the person I am today.  I have a sound mind, I am healthy and happier then I have been in a very long time.  I can never thank Portage enough for all they have done for my family and I.”

- Brandon

"Addiction for me, for everyone really, is a monster. It took me somewhere in life I never wanted to go. It was dark, depressing, and horrible. I'll never forget what Portage did for my life, it saved me."

- Jared

“I had nothing before I went to Portage and today I have contentment. It may not seem like a lot, but for someone who lived in total hopelessness and misery for years, to wake up happy is a big thing.”

- Stephanie

"At Portage I rebuilt my self esteem, learned to love myself and the simple things in life. Everything I have today is due to the help from the staff and my peers here at Portage. I have relearned who I am, and in the process, gained friends who will last a lifetime."

- Liam
