You can at any time request access to your personal information and or request its removal or destruction. Access is free. However, fees may be charged to the applicant for the transcription, reproduction or transmission of the information.

Portage undertakes to delete personal information at the request of the applicant if law does not require the collection.

Portage reserves the right to refuse access to the applicant's file if such access could cause significant and serious harm and for any other reason permitted by law.

Access to information and protection of personal information

Portage is subject to the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector and the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information as regards access to information.

For any access request, please follow the following steps:

Your request must be made in writing and indicate the name of the document for which you will then obtain access as well as your full contact details. By full contact details, we mean name, family name, address, email, phone and description of the request.

Only decisions rendered in response to a written application for access can give rise to an application for review before the Commission d’accès à l’information.

Portage is committed to respecting and being up to date with security standards. Every precaution has been taken to ensure that the information about you transmitted to us when you use our site is protected against any error, loss or unauthorized access. However, you must take all the personal security measures recommended to you here in order to maintain an optimal level of security when browsing our site. Terms applicable to online donations

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE MAKING AN ONLINE DONATION.

Security is ensured when you make an online donation to Portage Foundation (herafter Portage).

Personal information and credit card information that are entered on the site are transmitted electronically in a format that cannot be intercepted, altered, or decoded by a third party, because it is encrypted in order to ensure confidentiality.

Portage complies with encryption standards governing the secure transmission of transaction information as described below.

Portage does not store credit information on any transaction. Therefore, online donors must submit their credit card information with every new transaction.

By using the Portage Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the present terms. If you do not wish to be bound by these terms, you are not permitted to make a donation using the Website.

 

Security of transactions

Portage uses security measures to protect users from the loss or unauthorised use of information pertaining to them that is under the control of the Website, specifically including information related to credit cards. The Website servers use 256-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layers) information transmission technology, which makes data transmission very secure. When you visit the page where you will enter your credit card information, the Website will redirect you to a site operated by our supplier, SafeSave Payments Gateway. The URL for this site begins with the prefix "https", which indicates that the information is secured by means of encryption.

During a transaction, information such as your credit card number and expiry date are sent to SafeSave Payments Gateway for authorisation purposes using 256-bit SSL encryption. Payment method

Payment by credit card is the only method of payment that can be used to make online donations on the Website. Only the credit card holder is permitted to make an online donation.

 

Refunds

Online donations are not refundable unless otherwise requested by the Law. Any unused donation will be affected to any other program of Portage.
