Come join us in scenic Wellington County as riders take part in Portage Ontario’s 2nd annual cycling event. Help us build on the incredible success of last year’s inaugural ride.

Participants can choose to cycle a 20 km trail route along the Grand River or select from a 30 km or 60 km scenic route along country roads of Wellington Centre.  Plenty of rest stops along the way to grab a snack! Our 30 km route will also include a Vintage Bicycle Ride!

Start Line is Grand River Raceway where riders will enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast, barbecue lunch, and entertainment. Special thanks to the Grand River Agricultural Society for sponsoring our Start & Finish Lines! Cycling shirts and incentives are waiting for those who fundraise.

Join a community bringing awareness to the issue of youth addiction and the Portage Residential Treatment Centre in Elora.  Together, we can ensure vulnerable youth in need of substance treatment can access it immediately, and free of cost.

ROUTES

Pedal for Portage will offer riders a choice of routes including a 20 km trail ride, a 30 km road route and a 60 km road ride. The 30 km road ride will also host a Vintage Bicycle Ride so cyclists can show off their treasures. Riders will be asked to select their route of choice when registering.

Details of all routes as well as directional maps will be posted soon.

FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES

We’re asking each participant to collect $75 – that’s asking 3 friends for $25 (a donation of less than $1/day for a month) and each friend gets a tax receipt! That money will go towards changing the life for a young person who will come to Portage’s Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Treatment Centre in Elora looking to overcome their substance dependency. Someone like Samantha.
