Firmly rooted in the Elora community since 1985, Portage Ontario has extended its service out of his residential centre to help more youth living with addiction and mental health concerns. Our new Community Outreach Office serves at-risk youth living with substance use disorder, and their families, in the Guelph, Wellington County and neighboring regions.
In collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Health, Portage inaugurated our new service center on May 25. This office has been specially designed to welcome adolescents and their parents seeking help in the field of addiction rehabilitation. Counsellors are available on site to support families and offer services tailored to their needs. This initiative aims to provide essential support to youth and their families, offering them an environment conducive to healing and positive transformation. In partnership with local school boards, our trained counsellors host multiple meetings weekly to offer mental health and harm reduction support.
To celebrate the opening, a graduate and a parent joined us today to speak about their experience at Portage.
