This year marked the third edition of the Recovery Walk, a growing tradition made possible through the continued partnership between Portage and Kim Bellas, Founder of Sober is the New Cool.
Nearly 100 participants gathered at Beaver Lake to walk together and celebrate the strength, resilience, and hope that recovery represents.
What began as a small initiative has steadily grown into a meaningful annual event, inspiring more people to join each year. Residents from several Portage programs, including Aftercare participants, proudly walked alongside members of the broader sober community connected to Kim Bellas.
As in previous years, Kim organized groups to walk in different parts of the world, creating a global ripple of solidarity. This year was especially moving, as one of her community members travelled from the United States to walk with us in person.
Portage extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us — especially to Kim Bellas for her vision, energy, and tireless commitment to bringing people together and making this event possible.
Together, we continue to raise awareness, celebrate recovery, and show that no one walks this journey alone.
