Simple Plan Foundation: $20,000 for Portage youth

The Simple Plan Foundation held a press conference on November 22^nd to announce the amounts donated to various organizations supporting at-risk youth, including the Portage Foundation.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the band members for their generous $20,000 donation, which will allow us to continue the music program—an enrichment activity vital to the therapeutic process for teenagers and young adults struggling with addiction. Thanks to the Simple Plan Foundation’s support over the past 15 years, we have been able to enhance our services by introducing an art therapy component to our residential centres in Lac Écho and Saint-Malachie.

To better understand the program’s impact on young people, here is a testimonial from one teenager: “When I visited the centre, the music room is what convinced me to come here. The music program gave me long-term goals and renewed my desire to live and achieve them. I discovered a passion that helps me channel my emotions. Music is now part of my life and plays a crucial role in my sobriety.”
