The 22nd Edition of the Portage Golf and Cycling event took place on a bright sunny day despite a late spring and was once again a resounding success. This sports day was held in an elegant atmosphere at the prestigious Laval‑sur‑le-Lac Golf Club.

As usual, attendees included golfers and cyclists who enjoyed a wonderful day with more than 200 people from the Montreal area business community. Golfers teed off at around 11:30 a.m. on the very select Blue Course while cyclists began their country tour of the region in the early afternoon. The ride took them to Montée Robillard through the Oka National Park. Following these activities, everyone was invited to a cocktail on the clubhouse terrace, which allowed them to talk with peers and do some networking.

Then came the evening reception. On the menu: a gourmet meal designed by the chef. Guests delightfully enjoyed a beet salad with goat mousse, brie and asparagus soup, filet mignon served with shiitake mushrooms and a decadent dessert featuring local strawberries. A testimony from a young resident also moved our attendees during the evening. And finally, the dynamic Richard Lupien hosted the draw and auction that were also a great success. In the end, the event helped raise the record net sum of $167,000 which will be entirely dedicated to programs for young Anglophone and Francophone Portage residents at Lac Écho.

Portage would like to thank all the partners, participants and volunteers who made this event a success.
