As part of Wellington County, Portage Ontario is fortunate to have the support of many community-minded organizations. One of our newfound friendships has been that with the Rotary Club of Guelph South.

Since August of last year, the Rotary Club of Guelph South has championed the Portage Ontario cause:

  • Portage was invited to present at a members’ breakfast meeting and at the Club’s 2018 Annual General Meeting;

  • Portage received a generous $1,500 grant in support of its Community Engagement Program, allowing youth to volunteer in the community as well as raise awareness about youth addiction by telling their personal stories to high school students;

  • Rotarians have sponsored a Portage aftercare youth to attend Camp Enterprise Golden Triangle, a 3-day immersive camp at the University of Waterloo about business and entrepreneurship. Students will get to attend keynote speaker lectures and participate in collaborative activities culminating in a business plan presentation at the end of camp.

Portage Ontario wishes to acknowledge the kindness of Rotarian David Turvey, who was instrumental in opening doors to the Rotary Club of Guelph South. Thank you to all the Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Guelph South for continuing to inspire our youth to do as you do.
