On June 3rd, more than 150 members of the business community from the Quebec and Chaudière-Appalaches region gathered at the Sainte-Marie Golf Club in Beauce to attend Portage’s 25th Golf Open which was a huge success. Although somewhat chilly, participants were still able to enjoy the sun. The Honorable J. Michel Doyon, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, was also present.
In addition to playing on the Sainte-Marie Golf Club’s magnificent golf course, golfers were treated to both a candy stand (offered by PMT Roy) and fruit stand (iA Financial Group). They were also able to test their skills at the hole-in-one game offered by Laurier Du Vallon.
At the reception, guests enjoyed a delicious meal and a cake especially prepared for the 25th anniversary by the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac culinary team. Portage would like to thank Mr. Ken Hall, General Manager of the hotel.
However, the evening included another surprise for attendees. Indeed, the organizing committee paid a surprise tribute to Mrs. Colette Taylor for her remarkable dedication to Portage for 25 years. Mr. André Roy, Chair of the campaign, roasted the much-appreciated Mrs. Taylor in a humorous way.
This special edition helped raise the impressive net amount of $63,500 which will be entirely dedicated to Portage’s Adolescent Program in Saint-Malachie. Portage would like to thank all the partners, participants and volunteers who help make this event an unparalleled success year after year.
