The residents of Portage Saint-Malachie had the opportunity to take part in educational activities aimed at better understanding the electoral issues and evaluating the voting options available to them.
We would like to thank two parents involved in the family support group, who met with the Saint-Malachie community to talk about politics. These two parents are members of the House of Commons, working respectively as a notary and a lawyer.
They opened the discussion by addressing topics related to laws and civic duties, before leading a voting compass activity with the youth. What was initially planned as a 45-minute session turned into a two-hour exchange, filled with passionate debates about values. The young participants showed genuine interest and were able to take a stand on the key issues of today’s vote.
This day marked a key moment for the young adults in the Saint-Malachie program. Armed with new knowledge, they went on to exercise their civic duty, confident that they had made a voting choice aligned with their values. They returned to the centre filled with pride and a strong sense of accomplishment.
