As part of International Women’s Rights Day, we had the privilege of participating in a panel hosted by our generous partner, the Valero Energy Foundation of Canada. Moderated by Louis-Philippe Gariépy, Senior Director of Public and Government Affairs – Canada, the discussion aimed to inform employees about the tangible impact of their company’s social investment and community engagement program.
Steffie Bérubé, Program Manager for the Mother and Child Program at Portage, joined two other representatives from organizations supporting vulnerable women facing difficult circumstances. She shared insights into the services offered and highlighted the Valero Energy Foundation’s essential support.
The conversation with employees was both meaningful and enriching. We are sincerely grateful to Énergie Valero inc. for this invaluable opportunity to raise awareness about our organization. It also allowed us to emphasize the importance of sustained, multi-year support. Long-term funding for recreational activities plays a vital role in fostering and maintaining the essential parent-child bond, which is crucial to the well-being of mothers and their children.
