I can honestly say that Portage completely changed my life… Nothing was ever just black or white for me while I was there, but one thing’s for sure:  I am not the same person I was when I first entered Portage.

I went from being a boy who would use any substance he could find, implicated in crimes, and who was, above all, totally lost and devoid of self-confidence, to a man who knows himself and his values, and who has learned to control his emotions.

It took a lot of effort to get to that point. Among the essential steps to recovery were learning to let go of my old habits and negative views, learning to trust the people around me and, most of all, being genuinely open about who I am and especially about my emotions.

Portage is an investment in yourself
It’s a voluntary choice and it’s mentally demanding. For a lot of people, including me, it means letting go of everything that was part of you. But it’s also wonderful, helpful and achievable for everyone who is reading this testimonial and looking to change their life.

Take the chance to try and help yourself and you’ll see: it will pay off.
