On behalf of the Fredericton youth and families who are helped by Portage Atlantic, we thank the Fredericton Community Foundation for their investment in the Portage Atlantic Peer Support Project program.
Once the residential component of the drug addiction rehabilitation treatment program is completed, youth receive Aftercare support for up to two years, through regular communication and weekly meetings with Portage Atlantic Aftercare counselors and the Aftercare community. The Fredericton Peer Support Group is comprised of the Aftercare youth and creates opportunities for positive social activities for the youth in their Fredericton Community. Such social activities provide crucial support as the youth seek to reintegrate into everyday society.
