As an Intake Counsellor, you will manage all activities related to data collection, service requests and admissions for Portage programs. Reporting to the Director, you will work in partnership to ensure appropriate client follow-up.
Ensuring quality care: Prioritize the quality of care provided and ensure the well-being of residents
Ensuring staff and user safety: Promptly report any accident or dangerous situation;
Ensuring complete admission documentation: Complete various eligibility questionnaires and update applicant information in the database.
Participating in the admission process: Greet candidates and carefully evaluate their applications;
Providing guidance to candidates as needed: Refer candidates to relevant resources;
Re-establishing contact with candidates: Follow-up by telephone with candidates who have been accepted but never showed up;
Representing Portage in the network: Promote the organization’s programs and activities within the network.
Maintaining regular communication with the Admissions Coordinator: Provide detailed reports on the company’s actions as part of a specific admission-related plan;
Maintaining regular communication with the team: Compile monthly statistics for admissions and present them at the team meeting;
Related tasks : Perform other tasks as requested by immediate superior.
College degree (DEC) in a related field or university degree in addiction or in the process of completing it
Experience in a similar position
Experience with a clientele with substance use disorders in a community setting or therapeutic community
Experience in intervention and crisis management
Bilingual (French and English)
Good knowledge in Microsoft Office
Skills in interpersonal relationships and teamwork
Excellent analytical and evaluation skills
Job Type: permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Day shift – Monday to Friday
