CURL FOR A CAUSE

On March 23rd, Portage Ontario joined a group of six worthy charities who graciously received event proceeds from Curl for a Cause, a local volunteer-led curling bonspiel established in 2006. Curlers at the Fergus Curling Club in Centre Wellington, where the Portage Centre resides, warmly welcomed Portage as a first-time recipient.

Portage residents donated a wooden chest, made at our woodshop, for the silent auction table. Curlers, who were invited to raise funds for the charity of their choice, generously collected $7,075 to support vulnerable youth from Centre Wellington who will come to Portage to overcome their substance dependency.
