A heartwarming initiative

On December 20th, Christmas baskets were distributed to mothers and children living in Portage’s supervised apartments.

Avaya employees raised $2520 on their own initiative to help these families enjoy a merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.

With their contagious energy and heartwarming sense of sharing, Stéphane, Jean-Pierre, Pierre and Rosanna headed out to Metro Plus Bellemare in Brossard to pick up a well-balanced list of groceries for all ten families, that included meat, vegetables, fresh fruit, healthy juices and cake, along with special treats for the festive season. There were also presents for the mothers and age-appropriate gifts for the children, in addition to ten $35 gift certificates for additional nutritional needs.

The mothers and children had a merry Christmas and were very grateful to see the holiday magic extend to the first days of the new year.

Portage would like to thank all the Avaya employees who so generously contributed to this initiative. Thank you also to the Marketing Director for Cookina and Ms. Fauteux of the Metro supermarket who joined the Avaya team in making a difference in the lives of the young families in our supervised apartments.
