We are seeking a Head Cook for a permanent position at our Lac Echo centre in the Laurentides. The successful candidate will supervise cooks and assistant cooks, oversee meal preparation, and ensure all kitchen tasks meet established quality standards.
Supervises, trains and mentors the cooks and assistant cooks.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of supplies and equipment.
Manage inventory, products, and food rotation.
Collaborate with cooks on basic food preparation for dishes.
Develop healthy and balanced meals;
Prepares the ingredients required according to the menus (chop and peel fruits and vegetables, cut the meat etc.);
Monitors the preparation of dishes and prepare plates according to food regulation standards;
Ensure that hygiene and sanitation protocols are strictly followed and take corrective action in the event of any violations.
Coordinate the repair and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Pays particular attention to food allergies and safety guidelines in the kitchen;
Ensure the quality and freshness of products used in the kitchen are consistently maintained.
Related duties: Perfoms other tasks as required.
Hold a cooking diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education;
Hold a training certificate in hygiene and sanitation approved by MAPAQ;
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position;
Bilingual: French excellent spoken and written – English intermediate level
Possess strong experience in staff supervision.
Have experience in institutional cooking (asset);
Self-reliance and leadership;
Possess excellent organizational and occupational structure;
Have the ability to communicate with others and be a good mentor.
Job Type: permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Day shift – Monday to Friday
