Held at the heart of Portage&#8217;s community housing, the gathering was an opportunity to recognize the exceptional commitment of governors, board members, staff, and residents, while highlighting the achievements of the past year.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>Among the evening&#8217;s most notable moments, Portage paid tribute to several outgoing board members for their exceptional contribution to the organization.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>A special tribute was paid to Dorothy Reitman, a founding member of Portage, whose vision, generosity, and dedication helped shape the organization&#8217;s history. In recognition of her exceptional service and long-standing devotion to Portage&#8217;s mission, she was named Trustee Emerita. Portage extends its sincerest gratitude for her remarkable contribution and the lasting mark she leaves on the organization.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/portage.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Untitled-Design-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>The meeting was also an opportunity to welcome new board members to the boards of directors of Portage and the Foundation. Their arrival enriches the diversity of expertise within the governance bodies and will help support the mission in the years ahead.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><b>New board members &#8211; Portage board of directors<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Jo\u00ebl Tremblay<\/strong>, Ph.D.,\u00a0psychologist, scientific director of the RISQ research team (Recherche et intervention sur les substances psychoactives &#8211; Qu\u00e9bec), full professor in the Department of Psychoeducation at Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Trois-Rivi\u00e8res.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Sylvie Gigu\u00e8re<\/strong>, IAS .A, retired from Microsoft (2021). Strategic Advisor, transformational leader specializing in information technology and governance.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Abdelhakim Missoum<\/strong>, holds a master&#8217;s degree in addiction intervention, PhD candidate in health sciences (addiction), Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Maude Mondou<\/strong>, CPA,\u00a0vice-president, taxation, Axium Infrastructure, strategic advisor on compliance, risk management, and international structuring.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><b>New board members &#8211; Foundation board of directors<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>S\u00e9bastien Jacques<\/strong>, partner, strategy and transactions, EY. Member of the Quebec campaign committee and the Portage Quebec Golf Tournament committee for 3 years.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Laurent del Rosario<\/strong>, vice-president, investment banking, TD Securities, member of the Montreal campaign committee for the Portage Golf Tournament for 2 years.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/portage.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Untitled-Design-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>One of the most moving moments of the meeting was undoubtedly a resident&#8217;s testimony. Her journey eloquently illustrated the concrete impact of the support offered by Portage and the complementarity of our services, from residential programs to social reintegration, including supervised apartments.
