On October 26, Portage celebrated the success of 222 graduates during its annual Recognition Ceremony-an event filled with emotion and pride. For the first time, the ceremony was held at the Sylvain-Leli\u00e8vre Hall at C\u00e9gep de Limoilou, bringing together graduates from the adult program in Qu\u00e9bec<\/a>, the adolescent and young adults program in Saint-Malachie<\/a>, and the Employment Reintegration Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Surrounded by loved ones and Portage partners, the graduates received their diplomas, symbolizing their journey toward a life free from addiction. Some who had completed their program earlier this year also attended to share their stories and reaffirm their commitment to a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Among the powerful testimonials was Ga\u00e9tan, 69, a graduate of the adult program in Qu\u00e9bec:<\/p>\n

“Addiction doesn’t discriminate. […] It’s never too late to get back up, learn to love yourself, and start fresh. Thank you, Portage!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A young adult also shared her experience:<\/p>\n

“Portage isn’t a magic recipe-it’s hard work, tears, anger, joy, memories, a family, and essential tools to be happy.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scholarships to Support Academic Perseverance<\/strong><\/h4>\n

During the event, 17 scholarships were awarded through the Charles Neyron Fund, supported by the Price Family and Sanimax. This fund was created in memory of Charles Neyron, a Portage employee who, for over 20 years, encouraged people struggling with addiction to rebuild their lives, find employment, and reach their full potential. Since the program’s inception, 75 scholarships have been awarded.<\/p>\n

Annual Fundraising Campaign Launch<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Before the ceremony, Portage also launched its annual fundraising campaign. Thanks to the support of the community and campaign committee members, Portage continues to maintain and enhance its programs in the Qu\u00e9bec and Chaudi\u00e8re-Appalaches regions-making the successes celebrated today possible.<\/p>\n\t
