{"id":42933,"date":"2025-05-07T15:45:56","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T20:45:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portage.ca\/?p=42933"},"modified":"2025-08-28T09:53:57","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T14:53:57","slug":"inauguration-of-the-marcelle-and-jean-coutu-pavilion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/portage.ca\/en\/inauguration-of-the-marcelle-and-jean-coutu-pavilion\/","title":{"rendered":"Inauguration of the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Pavilion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p class=\"lead\"><em>Update: August 2025 &#8211; The campaign goal was surpassed thanks to additional contributions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Portage was proud to inaugurate the new Marcelle and Jean Coutu pavilion on May 6, at <a href=\"https:\/\/portage.ca\/en\/quebec\/french-adolescent-program-west\/\">the Lac \u00c9cho residential centre in Pr\u00e9vost<\/a>, which is home to adolescents and young adults struggling with addiction.<\/p>\n<p>The former building, which dated to 1939, could no longer accommodate young people under suitable conditions. To address this issue and bring this major project to life, the Portage Foundation launched a $5.2 million capital campaign.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Goal Surpassed Thanks to Exceptional Support<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Following the inauguration, several significant additional contributions allowed us to surpass the campaign goal, reaching a total of\u00a0$5,300,000. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the following partners for their generosity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fmjc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation<\/a>\u00a0added\u00a0$750,000\u00a0to its initial contribution of\u00a0$2,000,000, for an exceptional total donation of\u00a0$2,750,000.<\/li>\n<li>JAMP Pharma Group added $300,000 to its contribution of $200,000, for an exemplary total donation of $500,000.<\/li>\n<li>The D&#8217;Amours Foundation made a generous donation of $100,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Celebrated Philanthropic Commitment<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Mrs. Marie-Jos\u00e9e Coutu, President of the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation and a Portage partner for over 30 years, applauded the generosity of all those who contributed financially to help meet the growing needs of these vulnerable youth.
