On July 18, adolescents and young adults at the Lac \u00c9cho Portage addiction rehabilitation program got a special visit from Eric L\u00e9cuyer<\/a>, Head of the RNA Biology Research Unit at the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal (IRCM)<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n

Mr. L\u00e9cuyer led the group in a scientific exploration activity, offering them a chance to dive into the fascinating world of microorganisms that surround us.<\/p>\r\n

The day kicked off with a theoretical presentation covering various scientific concepts, where participants could take notes and sketch their observations in a souvenir booklet provided for the occasion. Then, they collected samples from the Portage grounds<\/a> and used microscopes to observe these organisms’ intriguing diversity and behaviours.<\/p>\r\n

A much-appreciated pizza lunch break added to the day’s enjoyment, after which the participants eagerly continued their discoveries in the afternoon. This enriching experience left a lasting impression on them and will be fondly remembered.<\/p>\r\n

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. L\u00e9cuyer and his two assistants-Maroua Ait El Baz, bioinformatics student at Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al (UdeM)<\/a> and Elissya L\u00e9cuyer<\/a>, senior editor at Ubiweb<\/a>-for organizing such an engaging and interesting initiative.<\/p>\r\n
