They are funded by the Government of Quebec and Portage&#8217;s partners.<\/p>\n<p>For residents of other provinces, please <a href=\"mailto:info_tstm@portage.ca\">contact us<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tHow long is the program?\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Around <strong>6 months<\/strong>, depending on each person&#8217;s needs, motivation, and readiness for treatment. Followed by a stay of 6 months to 2 years in a supervised apartment.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tWhere is it?\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The program is in Montreal. The address is confidential.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tHow do I get in?\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Admission to the program is voluntary-no referral from a healthcare professional is required. Anyone interested can apply on their own initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Once the application is received, an assessment meeting is scheduled with a staff member. This meeting helps to better understand the person&#8217;s needs, assess their motivation to begin a therapeutic process, and determine whether the program is a good fit for their situation.<\/p>\n<p>It is also required that each resident be followed by a medical team throughout the duration of their treatment. This ensures comprehensive and safe care, in addition to the support provided by the program.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tWhen will I be able to see my family?\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Each program is tailored to the individual, and the pace of family visits depends on their progress.<\/p>\n<p>In general, family visits begin after two weeks of therapy and gradually increase as you advance in your treatment.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tCan I work while in treatment?\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>No, the program is residential and full-time, but we help with work reintegration after.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tWhat language is the program offered in?\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The program is bilingual and offered in both English and French.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tWho is the program for?\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Individuals affected by both mental illness (primarily schizophrenia and related disorders) and substance use disorder.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tMust clients be referred by health professionals?\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>No. Referrals to the program can be made by the clients themselves, their families or guardians, social service agencies, hospitals, community resources, courts, schools, and other treatment providers. The client must, however,\u00a0have a medical team who will remain involved throughout the treatment
