All Portage programs in Quebec are free of charge and are largely funded\u00a0by the Government of Quebec.<\/p>\n

The centre is located in Prevost, in the Laurentian.<\/p>\n

Admission is voluntary. You can either contact Portage or Access Mechanism in your region\u00a0to schedule an appointment, during which the adolescent’s needs and desire to undertake the rehabilitation process will be evaluated. An appointment at the centre will also give the potential resident a chance to look around and get a better idea about the environment and the services that are offered.<\/p>\n

No. Referrals to the program can be made by the clients themselves, their families or guardians, social service agencies, hospitals, community resources, courts, schools, and other treatment providers.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t8. When can I see my family?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExpand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Residents can speak with their family members on the telephone three times a week. After two weeks, a case conference is organised with the family\u00a0and the resident. After three weeks of therapy, the first family visit occurs on Portage’s premises for a six\u00a0hour period. Once the resident reaches a certain level in their therapy, they\u00a0can leave the centre for day visits with their family every two\u00a0weeks, and can eventually spend the weekends with their family, which helps them prepare for social reintegration. The family visit schedule is subject to change, at the discretion of the resident’s caseworker.<\/p>\n
