Your mission will be to support mothers and children in developing healthy behaviors and habits. Reporting to the director, your role will be to help mothers forge healthy bonds with their children all while respecting the diverse backgrounds of those individuals.
Accompany mothers in their parenting role: Provide support and tools to strengthen skill development;
Support the development of mothers and children: Encourage attachment bonds through healthy interactions;
Contribute to the development of action plans for mothers and children : Ensure that plans are applied and put into practice in daily life;
Follow-up on plans designed to stimulate children’s development: Help the mother implement said plans;
Collaborate with external services dedicated to children: Work in partnership with other organizations in the interests of children;
Provide support to other specialized early childhood educators: Collaborate with the team on specific needs;
Offer support and practical teaching at key moments in life: Provide guidance on appropriate and inappropriate behaviors;
Facilitate parenting skills groups: Inform mothers about beneficial behaviors to adopt and actions to take to put them into practice;
Plan and organize mother-child activities: Design adapted and creative activities in response to challenges;
Maintain weekly records: Write observation notes and activity reports;
Ensure procedures and protocols are followed: Ensure policies are followed;
Participate in case conferences and team meetings: Exchange ideas and discover new methods and services to better equip mothers;
Related tasks : Perform other tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.
College degree (DEC) in a related field or university degree in addiction (or in the process of completing it)
Experience in a similar position
Experience with a clientele with substance use disorders in a community setting or therapeutic community
Experience in intervention and crisis management
Bilingual: French and English(asset)
Skills in interpersonal relationships and teamwork
Job Type: permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: day and evening shift (rotation), week and weekend
