Soirée des Grands Philanthropes

Portage's Soirée des Grands Philanthropes is an opportunity to pay tribute to an outstanding individual from Québec’s business community. Since 2004, Portage has honoured leaders, entrepreneurs and major philanthropists who cultivate excellence and promote the progress and well-being of society through their commitment and vision. All profits from this well-attended event will be dedicated to Portage’s programs in Quebec.

This year, Portage proudly pays tribute to Julie Godin, Executive Chair of the Board of Directors of CGI. This exceptional leader sets herself apart through her remarkable contribution to the well-being of the community, her philanthropic commitment and her contribution to the business community, both in Canada and around the world.

Julie Godin's Philanthropic Commitment

For more than two decades, CGI and the Godin Family Foundation have been actively engaged in philanthropy, with a strong focus on supporting children’s health, education, and well-being. While CGI engages in initiatives that create lasting impact in communities worldwide, the Godin Family Foundation provides direct support to children and teens facing difficulties, helping them access the resources they need to thrive.

Since its inception in 2000, the foundation has supported nearly 450 organizations, helping to break cycles of poverty and enhance health, education, and well-being for young people across Quebec and Canada. The Godin Family Foundation’s mission aligns closely with Portage’s commitment to helping at-risk youth, supporting initiatives that provide vulnerable young people with the tools and support they need to build a brighter future.

The foundation focuses on improving the quality of life of children and teens through concrete projects that address their most pressing needs. By collaborating with groups and organizations that primarily serve youth aged 17 and under, the foundation ensures its resources are directed toward initiatives that create lasting impact. Whether through access to education, healthcare support, or social programs, its efforts are guided by a vision of empowering the next generation to thrive.

In addition to the work of the foundation, CGI actively supports causes in the communities where it operates worldwide. This commitment reflects CGI’s broader efforts to foster sustainable and impactful community initiatives, including supporting digital literacy and STEM education.

“We all have a role to play in shaping a better tomorrow. Investing in children’s health, education and well-being and creating opportunities for them to thrive is one of the most meaningful ways we can build stronger, more resilient communities.”

— Julie Godin, Executive Chair of the CGI Board of Directors
