On June 2nd, Portage attended the first edition of the Social Impact Film and Art Festival. As part of their music lessons, residents from the Adolescent Program at Lac Écho composed and recorded the song “Something New” to express the impact therapy had on their recovery. A music video was created and presented at the festival.
And, under the art teacher’s supervision, women residents suffering from drug addiction and mental health problems created 3 stars that represent the “before, during and after” at Portage. These art pieces were exhibited at the festival.
The festival was a wonderful opportunity to promote Portage’s mission in the community. It was also a great source of motivation for our resident artists who represented our organization beautifully.
