In addition to being a residential drug addiction rehabilitation program that focuses on helping vulnerable youth to stop using drugs, Portage Ontario is about empowering its residents to develop a healthy lifestyle – eating well, sleeping well, and enjoying social and recreational activities.

Portage works hard to offer diverse programming so that youth can learn new things and cultivate new interests. In April, Portage residents attended the Turtle Island Heritage Festival at the Wellington County Museum & Archives. The festival was a celebration of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Art and Culture. Residents got to play Métis games and participate in workshops highlighting different aspects of First Nations, Métis or Inuit life including beading, drumming and dance workshops.  “ It was a memorable day for all.”
