Taking place each year in June, Portage’s Golf & Cycling tour gives its participants an unrivaled access to the prestigious and select Laval-sur-le-lac golf Club.

During the cycling tour, about forty cyclists will tour the region’s most pastoral landscapes. Accompanied by professionnals from Avelocoaching (like Dominique Perras, a world-class cyclist and analyst for RDS). This tour, which accommodates cyclists of all levels and skill, also lets them visit many of the region’s points of interest, like the Oka Abbey or its national park. The more daring participants will also be able to prove their worth in a King of the Mountain type race on the Montée Robillard. The security of the group will be ensured by motorcyclists.

Meanwhile, the golfers will have the chance of playing on the legendary Green golf course. With a length of 6 616 yards, it offers a challenge combining all elements bequeathed by Mother Nature: a playing surface that Gary Player described in October 2009 as  “unique in the world”, over rough terrain with hills and plateaus, majestic 100-year old trees, undulating and raised greens, as well as deep, strategically-placed bunkers.

Cyclists and golfers will reunite afterwards for a cocktail on the club’s splendid terrace before the evening’s refined dinner. The event helps to raise funds entirely dedicated to Portage’s Francophone and Anglophone adolescents rehabilitaton programs.

It is because of its committee members, partners, participants and volunteers that this event is met with the utmost success year after year with 200 influential members of the Greater Montreal business community.
