Youth rehab centre explains its role to city audience
SUMMERSIDE – Stephanie Connell went to Portage Atlantic expecting a regular rehab facility, and simply hoped to get her parents off her back.
She voluntarily entered the addictions treatment centre in rural New Brunswick two years ago and counted every day she was there – seven months and one day to be exact.
Today, Connell lives on P.E.I. with her sisters, and said the difference between the addict she was then and the person she is now is like night and day.
