The Portage Atlantic Foundation nears its goal

Portage ATL News - Campaign 2010-2011Thanks to the generosity of a great many individuals, businesses, and foundations, the Portage Atlantic Foundation has raised $122,000 towards its 2010-2011 goal of $150,000.

We’re almost there! Please help us reach our goal.
Every donation, large or small, makes a difference for the youth at Portage. The rehabilitation program at Cassidy Lake helps youth at risk to transform and redirect their lives, thereby contributing to building healthier and safer communities in Atlantic Canada.

Donations to the Portage Atlantic Foundation support three main areas of need:

  • Aftercare services for graduates;
  • Extra-curricular activities for residents; and
  • Continuing education for clinical staff members.

Please help us reach our fundraising goal of $150,000 by May 31st. To find out how your donation can make a difference, contact Carol Tracey, Director of Development, Portage Atlantic at 506-459-1284 or by email at

Keeping in touch…
“I was one of the very first people to go to Portage Atlantic back in 1996. I cannot believe how much it has changed – it has come a very long way, that is for sure. I was really hard on everyone when I was there, and I was kicked out a few times, but always came back. Thanks to Portage, I am the person I am today. I have a wonderful 10 year old son, I work for the federal government and am loving life. Who would have thought that of me back then?  Surely not me.

I look at pictures and videos of Portage Atlantic now and I am so happy that it is still there, and the size of it. Wow, so much bigger and better. I truly want to thank everyone at Portage for being there for me and helping me as much as you could.” – Amanda
