18th Annual Recognition Day

On September 9, members of the Frederiction community gathered together at City Hall to celebrate Recovery Day. Recovery Day takes place across the country to build awareness, challenge societal stigma, and celebrate the role that recovery plays in improving the lives of individuals who have overcome drug addiction, and the lives of their families and communities. Portage and the National Addictions Awareness Week

Portage is taking advantage of Drug Awareness Week, which runs from November 17 to 21, to highlight the problem of  Illegal Synthetic drugs abuse in our society. The Portage Communications office will deploy all efforts to raise awareness and inform the public and the politicians about drug abuse issues.

Portage recognizes Mr Ron Evans

Mr. Ron Evans, a Fredericton resident who has been involved in helping youth at risk with Portage for many years, received a distinction from Peter Howlett, Portage President.

Kristen Marks, teacher at Portage Academy; ”A great teaching experience”

There is no doubt that teaching requires patience, creativity and dedication. We can all think of a teacher who gave us a new perspective on the world or helped us become a better person. A new generator for the Cassidy Lake centre

generatrice2In order to continuously improve its services, the Cassidy Lake centre in New Brunswick received a generator at the beginning of the summer. Good news as power outages due to winter storms can now be prevented. Almost all Portage centres are equipped with a generator, to ensure everyone’s comfort and to prevent any problems. Read more…
