On Wednesday, May 4th, Hydro-Québec invited six women from Portage’s rehabilitation program for adults at Lac Echo, in Prevost, to a play.

As part of its partnership with the Duceppe Theater, Hydro-Québec, a loyal Portage partner for many years, made it possible for these residents to attend a play titled Pétrole. Written by François Archambault and directed by Edith Patenaude, the play is about global warming and combined political intrigue with a touch spicy humor.

This special evening was a first for many of these women who had previously never been to a theatre. At the end of the performance, the actors invited the Lac Echo residents to stay and chat with them. A unique and timeless moment for these women struggling with addiction.

Portage would like to thank Hydro-Québec and the Duceppe Theater for this invitation and for giving these special women a chance to be introduced to the world of dramatic arts and performance theatre.
