About Portage


On April 28, 2011, about a dozen men and women from Québec City businesses participated in the twelfth edition of Portage’s Table du chef fundraising event. Organised in partnership with the Fairmont Château Frontenac, the event raised $8,000 for the young people at the Portage Saint-Malachie drug rehabilitation centre.

The guests each paid $650 to attend the event, where they helped put together a delicious gourmet meal, created by Executive Chef Jean Soulard in his kitchen at the Château Frontenac. Following the cooking workshop, the apprentice chefs then had a chance to evaluate their culinary talents by thoroughly enjoying the prepared meal.
