The Cassidy Lake centre is set in a remote, natural setting which has great potential to be developed in order to expand the outdoor therapeutic components of Portage’s drug addiction rehabilitation program. The Recovery Trail Project involves extending and enhancing Cassidy Lake’s existing 3.8 km path, to include wheelchair accessibility and provide a safe and picturesque route for walking, running, biking and snowshoeing. The project will provide for the purchase of new recreational equipment to be used on the trail, including mountain bikes and snowshoes.
The relay is being organised as part of the Run Through History: Celebration of Green Space event, taking place July 10th & 11th at the Lily Lake pavilion in Saint John, New Brunswick. Teams must be made up of eight participants – all ages and ability levels welcome. Each team is encouraged to raise $2,000.
The goal for this project is $60,000. Please visit http://www.celebrationofgreenspace.com/ today to find out how you can help the Future Focus Foundation do something great for local youth in need.
