The community toured around a local sugar shack and learned how maple syrup is made. They also went skating in Guelph, had an outdoor cookout, and participated in some relaxation classes, learning about yoga, meditation, body awareness, and breathing exercises. They had the opportunity to learn how to crochet and to participate in basketball and floor hockey tournaments in the gym.
Some recognition activities also took place during the week, where the youth were encouraged to show positive recognition to their peers. They also enjoyed some group activities with their family members, facilitated by Pat Culver, Portage Elora’s Coordinator of Family Services.
