Recovery day: The City of Fredericton along with Portage Atlantic

‘I WAS DYING AND IT WAS HORRIBLE’

A drug addict since the age of 17, Macfarlane-Webb had been to three different treatment centres before she turned 20. Tired of feeling sick and hating herself, she said she was about to give up before she decided to give Portage Atlantic another try. She entered the facility on June 15, 2012, and completed the program six months later on Dec. 13. “I’ve been continuously clean ever since then,” she said. On Sunday afternoon, she was one of two youth graduates from Portage to share their stories as part of a ceremony held at city hall to mark Recovery Day 2013. Read more…
