About Portage

On November 11th residents and staff members at Cassidy Lake took a time out of the regular schedules to recognise the sacrifices that Canada’s soldiers have made and to thank all Canadian veterans for their service.

The Cassidy Lake centre received a visit from Major David Dickson for the third consecutive year. He spoke to the residents and staff about his experiences in the Second World War and about life as a veteran.

Portage is grateful to be able to welcome these special visitors on Remembrance Day, who teach courage and perseverance as they share this important part of Canadian history with the residents.
