About Portage

On April 28, 2013, Portage Ontario and Outward Bound Canada will be hosting the first edition of Hit the Bricks, an urban adventure race and festival at Toronto’s Evergreen Brickworks. Twelve residents and staff members from Portage facilities in Québec and New Brunswick will be heading down to join their teammates in Elora to participate in the event.

Before the big day, Portage Elora residents will welcome their guests to the facility for a barbeque and a day of exchange and learning between the different communities.  Early the next day, the teams will head off to Toronto to participate in Hit the Bricks, challenging their limits on the climbing wall, the boulder rock, the Bermuda Triangle, and the challenge tower, among others.

The event will raise funds for the Portage-Outward Bound Program, providing Portage Elora residents the opportunity to experience an overnight wilderness adventure as part of their rehabilitation program.
