About Portage

From August 5 to 8, 2013, over a hundred residents from Portage’s rehabilitation centres in Québec, Ontario, and New Brunswick gathered at Portage Saint-Malachie, to compete in various team sports in the annual Portage Olympics. It was the first time in many years that all Portage centres for adolescents in Eastern Canada were represented.

Residents had a great time playing hockey, volleyball, football, basketball and soccer, among other activities.

“The Portage Olympics are a great opportunity for residents from the different Portage centres to meet each other and share their stories and experiences, in the context of some friendly outdoor competition,” explained Bruce Ferguson, Director of Portage Saint-Malachie.
