While on Spring Break from the on-site schooling program, the youth in treatment at the Portage Elora addiction rehabilitation centre enjoyed a week of cultural, recreational, and educational activities.
The boys’ community made the most of the beautiful weather outdoors and worked their muscles with activities such as hiking, rock climbing, swimming, and sports tournaments.
The boys also showcased their vocal talents during a karaoke night, as well as their cooking talents with an excursion to the Maple Sugar Shack – how sweet!
Not to be outdone, the girls’ community hosted a “Feel Good Fashion Show”, and as the title of the event suggests, these fashionistas were promoting self-esteem and self-worth. Good job ladies!
The girls also showed off their culinary skills by baking cupcakes, and then worked off the sugar with plenty of daily exercise: yoga, basketball, volleyball, workout videos, and more.
Like the boys, the girls also relaxed with a few movie nights and unwound with some fun karaoke.
Spring Break was bursting at the seams with activity, keeping the boys and girls of Portage Elora on their toes – never a dull moment!
