About Portage

Portage Atlantic’s first online fundraising initiative raised a total of $11,222 thanks to the generosity of online donors. The campaign, which culminated in National Addiction Awareness Week at the end of November 2013, sought to spread awareness to a larger audience through a new medium, and showcase Portage as a leader in addiction treatment in Atlantic Canada.

The theme of the campaign was “Children don’t dream of becoming addicts”. The inspiring video below was hosted on the campaign website, www.Rally4Dreams.ca.

As part of the campaign, donors were given “perks” for their donations, such as letters from the youth in treatment and mentions on social media.  One of the perks was the chance to win a canoe; congratulations to Steve Leblanc of BC, who was the grand prize winner!

The funds raised will help enhance the programs and services provided at the Cassidy Lake substance abuse rehabilitation centre for youth.

The Portage Atlantic development office in Fredericton and all of the staff members at the Cassidy Lake centre are extremely appreciative to all of the donors who helped made this campaign a success.
