Cassidy Lake, April 11, 2014 – During National Volunteer Week, which runs from April 6 to April 12, Portage Atlantic is recognising all the volunteers whose efforts have made the Portage Atlantic drug rehabilitation treatment centre at Cassidy Lake what it is today.
Portage Atlantic is blessed to work with such dedicated volunteers who, through hard work and determination, have helped Atlantic youth struggling with addiction to overcome substance abuse and become productive members of society.
On April 11, 2014, Portage Atlantic staff members, youth, and volunteers were on-hand at the rehabilitation centre at Cassidy Lake for a special reception to celebrate the organisation’s extraordinary volunteers.
“Our volunteers are passionate about making a positive difference in our residents’ lives,” said Geordie Gould, Director of the Portage Atlantic centre. “Many have been with us since the centre first opened its doors, and today we are pleased to formally thank them for all that they have done and continue to do.“
Portage Atlantic would like to extend a special thanks to Investors Group of Saint John who sponsored the event, providing lunch for the over 80 guests, as well as their support.
