On Friday, February 26th, Portage Elora held its annual Olympic Day. Residents and staff took part in a day of fun and competition, this year marking the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. The activities were organised and set up by the students of the Outdoor Education class.
Individual events included a luge race on the toboggan hill and a cross-country ski race. For the four on four hockey tournament, residents were divided in teams, representing six different countries. They also enjoyed skating and snowshoeing.
Despite the blustery weather, the event was a great success. Participants gathered around the bonfire at the end of the day to celebrate their achievements with hot chocolate a medal ceremony.
