Carol Tracey, director of development for addictions treatment centre Portage Atlantic, said donations from the event have helped provide needed equipment for her facility.
“A portion of the proceeds from last year’s River Jam went to Portage. And what we did with that donation is that we purchased a (public address) system for the residents and staff at Cassidy Lake,” she said.
“It’s been used for presentations, for meetings, for when we have guest speakers and, in fact, this summer we have a Portage Atlantic summer Olympics, in which case the PA system will come in handy for entertainment and announcements and so on.”
