The inaugural Hit the Bricks Adventure Race and Festival will take place on April 28, 2013 at the Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto. This action-packed fundraising and awareness building event is expected to attract over a thousand professionals, community and business leaders, families, volunteers, and youth.
In the morning, teams will race around the Evergreen Brick Works to complete adrenaline-pumping and team-building challenges that will test physical limits and stretch mental muscles. The race will include activities such as a seventy foot Challenge Tower Climb, a team climbing wall, geo-caching, and a high tower rappel. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: top corporate team, top high school team, and top individual score. In the afternoon, the venue will morph into a family and community festival, where people of all ages will be able to enjoy participating in the challenges at a more leisurely pace.
Funds raised through the event will go to the Portage Outward Bound Program, which provides youth in treatment for substance abuse issues with the opportunity to participate in extended-length wilderness expeditions.
