Healthy bodies help nurture healthy minds and a healthy lifestyle, which is what Portage Atlantic is trying to cultivate in the residents seeking substance abuse rehabilitation therapy at Cassidy Lake.
The late Dr. William Lewis, a Champion Donor of Portage Atlantic’s “Making Miracles Happen” capital campaign for the construction of the new centre at Cassidy Lake, has left a very generous donation in his estate for the construction of a recreational facility and fitness centre at Cassidy Lake, to be named in memory of his parents, Oliver and Doris Lewis.
Born in the Moncton area, Dr. Lewis was an engineer, an economist, a businessman, and a philanthropist. He was extremely committed to the well-being of young people, in particular those affected by substance abuse.
Portage Atlantic board members, staff members, and volunteers were honoured to have known Dr. Lewis and are very grateful for his involvement in Portage and his generosity.
