Since the inauguration of the new Portage Atlantic facility at Cassidy Lake in 2010, the community of staff and residents has taken on several landscaping projects to enhance the curb appeal of the rehabilitation centre. In August, the boys’ community worked hard on the most recent phase of this project. They planted four different types of apple trees, which were a donation from the Sun Valley Nursery in Sussex, New Brunswick. The centre also received two tons of mulch from Cardwell Farms, which they used for the garden and for planting grass seed. The boys have been enjoying working as a team on this project and are proud of the results they have seen so far.
Portage Atlantic is very grateful for the donations from Sun Valley Nursery and Cardwell Farms.
